The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Liman Muhammad Baba, for allegedly killing his 80-year-old father, Malam Baba Siti, during a heated confrontation. The tragic incident reportedly occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday in Uzum village, located in Giade Local Government Area of the state. According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Mohammed Wakil, the Giade Divisional Police received a distress call from a concerned resident. Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Sani Omolori, ordered the Divisional Police Officer to commence a discreet investigation. Wakil said detectives quickly arrived at the scene and discovered the elderly victim lying in a pool of blood. Preliminary findings indicated that the suspect had struck his father on the head with a stick, leading to his immediate collapse and death. The victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Giade, where he was confirmed dead on arrival by medical personnel. The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody. Authorities say a detailed investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
