SHINE ROSMAN REVEALS HOW WORK HELPED HER HEAL AFTER FATHER’S DEATH
Nollywood actress Shine Rosman, known for her role in To Kill A Monkey, has opened up about coping with the painful loss of her father.
Speaking on the Open Up podcast hosted by Amanda Dara, Shine explained that immersing herself in work became a vital outlet for processing her grief.
“I was able to work away a lot of emotions. People say time heals; I don’t think it does,” she shared.
Reflecting on the people who continue to inspire her, Shine described her parents as her greatest role models. She emphasized that her admiration for them stems from their resilience and the examples they set.
“The more I’ve advanced in life, the more I’ve realised that my parents have always been my true role models. My mum and dad set such wonderful examples for me that I don’t desperately desire to be anybody but them. Maybe I just want to be a better version of them, a healthier version,” she said.
Shine also spoke about the importance of staying authentic amid public scrutiny and expectations. She credited her close-knit support system for helping her maintain balance.
“By being myself. The expectations people have of you can easily creep into your life and start to affect how you think. But surrounding yourself with the right people makes a big difference. My best friends are my sisters. Outside of my family, I probably have about five true friends, people who are genuinely my friends and whom I hold very dearly,” she added.
Through her reflections, Shine Rosman highlighted how work, family, and genuine friendships can serve as anchors during life’s most challenging moments.
