SHEIKH GUMI HAILS MAMDANI’S VICTORY, PREDICTS MUSLIMS WILL ONE DAY REACH THE WHITE HOUSE

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has expressed optimism that Muslims will eventually attain the position of president in the White House.

Gumi made the remark while congratulating Uganda-born Mamdani on his historic victory as the newly elected mayor of New York City — the first Muslim to occupy the position.

In a post shared on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Gumi wrote:

“Mamdani has made it! ICU in Washington should be ready for heart attacks! Muslims will make it to WH.”

Mamdani, a 34-year-old state assemblyman from Queens and a self-described democratic socialist, achieved a major political upset by defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo in a fiercely contested race for New York City’s top office.

His unexpected victory in the Democratic mayoral primary in June shocked many, as Cuomo had been widely regarded as the favorite to secure the nomination.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump closely followed the election, describing Mamdani as a “100% Communist Lunatic” and “My little communist” — labels Mamdani dismissed.

Ahead of Election Day, Trump endorsed Cuomo and even hinted at cutting federal funding to New York City if Mamdani emerged victorious.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
