Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has opened up about her past experiences with dating younger men, revealing that her priorities have evolved and she is now more focused on seeking lasting commitment.

During an appearance on the Dear Ife series hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, Bello shared that while she had dated younger men in the past, it was purely for enjoyment at the time.

"I’ve done it before. Back then, it was fun—it was a phase. But that phase is over. What I desire now is marriage,” she explained, when asked if she would consider dating a younger man again.

Bello acknowledged that she still attracts attention from younger admirers, particularly via social media, but said such interactions no longer impress her.

"I'm over 50 and young men still slide into my DMs. It’s flattering, but some are just not well-behaved. They’ll message you with things like ‘Hi dear,’” she said, brushing off the advances.

Although open to marriage, Bello emphasized that her perspective on it is more open-minded compared to traditional views.

"I’m not opposed to marriage, but I see it differently than most people. Many are too rigid about it,” she said.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
