Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has shared details about a significant personal decision she made regarding family planning.

In a candid discussion on her YouTube channel, Shaffy Bello TV, the actress reflected on motherhood and the choices she made to shape the family she wanted. Bello revealed that she underwent a medical procedure to permanently prevent further pregnancies, explaining that she did not want a large family.

According to Bello, she had her fallopian tubes tied about 26 years ago after deciding she did not want more children. She noted that although her former husband wanted to expand their family, she remained firm in her choice.

“My ex-husband had to beg me to have another one. I didn’t want a lot of children. I wanted to stop,” she said.

Describing the procedure, Bello explained that doctors accessed her fallopian tubes through her navel, effectively stopping the release of eggs and preventing future pregnancies.

“So they went through my navel, did what they needed to do, and tied it up. That was it. They closed my eggs,” she said.

Bello emphasized that she had always been clear about the size of the family she wanted and never felt pressured to have more children than she wished. She humorously added that if she were ever to become pregnant after the procedure, she would consider it a miraculous event.

“I’ve always said to myself that after tying my tubes, if I get pregnant, I will feel like Mary—it’s a holy child,” Bello remarked.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
