The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has raised concern over repeated inaccuracies in the official appellation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by some media organisations and public institutions.

According to a statement personally signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the office observed a recent instance in which a national daily incorrectly styled the President in a publication dated Wednesday, May 7, 2026.

Akume described such errors as avoidable and urged media organisations to ensure proper verification of official titles before publication to prevent misinformation and lapses that could undermine institutional accuracy.

He stressed that the correct and official form of address for the President should read: “His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The SGF further noted that adherence to official nomenclature is a matter of protocol and national respect, adding that such mistakes can easily be prevented through proper fact-checking with relevant government sources.

APC Calls for Patience on Tinubu’s Economic Reforms

Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has called on Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu more time to implement his economic reforms.

Speaking during an appearance on TVC News’ This Morning with Uncle Yori, Morka said the administration is actively working to address both the micro and macroeconomic challenges facing the country.

He maintained that while reforms may take time to yield visible results, early steps taken by the Tinubu administration indicate progress in reshaping the economy.

Morka urged citizens to remain patient, insisting that the government has already begun laying the groundwork for long-term economic improvement.

The development comes amid ongoing national conversations about governance communication, economic reforms, and public expectations from the current administration.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
