SEYI SHAY WARNS AGAINST “MEN ARE NOT IMPORTANT” NARRATIVE
Nigerian singer and songwriter Seyi Shay has raised concerns over the growing narrative that “men are not important,” warning that it is both misleading and dangerous.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, the 39-year-old stressed that children — especially women — who grow up with strong father figures are generally more stable and grounded.
“Most women who have a father figure in their lives are generally more stable. They had a lot more access to good education and good morals growing up than the ones that don’t,” she explained.
According to the star, undermining men’s role in families only deepens divisions and increases the chances of producing “broken souls.”
“All these narratives of men not being important is bullsh*t because that’s just an agenda for more divisions in our homes so that we can churn out more broken souls and more lost females and males,” she said.
Seyi Shay also reflected on motherhood, revealing that she is grateful she did not have a daughter in her 20s. She believes that with her current maturity and experiences, she would now be better equipped to guide her child in relationships, friendships, and life choices.
The singer’s comments have since stirred conversations online, with many weighing in on the importance of balanced parenting and the role of both genders in raising future generations.
