SERIE A: ADEMOLA LOOKMAN CONFIDENT OF REGAINING TOP FORM AFTER EQUALISER AGAINST AC MILAN
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is optimistic about returning to his best form after scoring in Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan on Tuesday night in Serie A.
The lively winger netted a crucial equaliser for La Dea, marking his first goal of the season for the Bergamo-based side.
Lookman admitted that it has been a challenging start to the campaign, largely because he missed pre-season training while attempting to secure a move to Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to DAZN Italia after the match, the former Leicester City and RB Leipzig player expressed confidence that consistency will return with more minutes on the pitch.
“I’ve not been able to find form yet, physically or in front of goal, but I’ll get there eventually and this was a step forward in the right direction,” Lookman said.
He added, “Hopefully in the coming games, we’ll be able to get some wins.”
Lookman was one of Atalanta’s standout performers last season, finishing as one of their top scorers and earning praise for his explosive runs and finishing ability. Fans will be hoping his latest goal signals the start of another productive spell for the Super Eagles star as Atalanta aim to climb higher in the Serie A standings.
