SENATORS’ WIVES MOURN PROF JANET PLANG, PRAISE HER LIFE OF GRACE AND SERVICE
The Senators’ Wives Association of Nigeria is mourning the loss of one of its own, Professor Janet Plang, describing her death as both heartbreaking and shocking.
Professor Plang, the wife of Senator Diket Plang from Plateau State, passed away recently, leaving a void that her colleagues say will be hard to fill.
In an emotional statement issued by the association’s President, Dr. (Mrs) Unoma Akpabio, she paid glowing tribute to Professor Plang, calling her “our beloved and distinguished sister, a woman of grace, intellect, and compassion, and a true pillar in our circle and beyond.”
Mrs Akpabio added that Professor Plang’s warmth, wisdom, and many contributions would always be cherished and deeply missed.
She also offered prayers on behalf of the association for the peaceful repose of Professor Plang’s soul, asking God to comfort Senator Diket Plang, their children, and the entire family during this painful time.
Reflecting on Professor Plang’s remarkable life, Mrs Akpabio highlighted her humility and dedication to the academic world, noting that her work at the University of Jos and her broader impact on Nigerian academia had left an enduring legacy.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Let us continue to keep her family in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult times,” she said.
As family, friends, and colleagues grieve, many have continued to remember Professor Janet Plang not just for her professional achievements, but for the compassion and grace that defined her life.
