SENATOR NATASHA BRIEFLY STOPPED AT ABUJA AIRPORT OVER WATCHLIST ALERT
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was briefly stopped by immigration officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday while trying to board a flight to the United Kingdom.
Reports say the Kogi lawmaker, who was traveling with her husband to attend her stepson’s graduation in the UK, was told that her name was on a watchlist, which temporarily delayed her travel.
Although she was eventually allowed to continue her journey, the reason her name appeared on the list remains unclear.
The incident comes amid rising tension between Senator Natasha and the Senate leadership. She has been challenging her suspension after protesting the change of her seating arrangement in the Red Chamber.
The senator also made headlines recently after accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment—an allegation Akpabio has firmly denied.
So far, immigration officials and the Senate have yet to issue an official statement on the airport incident.
