SARAH JESSICA PARKER CONFIRMS EMOTIONAL END TO ‘AND JUST LIKE THAT…’
A Poetic Goodbye: ‘And Just Like That…’ Comes to an End After 27 Years of Carrie Bradshaw
It’s official — the world of Sex and the City is bidding farewell.
After more than two decades of laughter, love, heartbreak, and friendship, Sarah Jessica Parker and showrunner Michael Patrick King have announced that the third season of the Sex and the City spinoff And Just Like That… will be its last.
“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end,” King wrote in a heartfelt post shared on the show's official Instagram.
The decision was made collectively by King, Parker (who also serves as executive producer), and HBO’s top executives. The series finale will air in two parts over the next two Thursdays.
In a touching social media post, Sarah Jessica Parker reflected on her 27-year journey playing Carrie Bradshaw, the character that became a cultural icon since the original show’s debut in 1998.
“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,” Parker wrote.
She thanked the 380+ cast and crew members who contributed to And Just Like That…, calling the experience “all joy, adventure, and the greatest kind of hard work.”
Her post included a series of nostalgic photos, featuring familiar faces like Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), the late Willie Garson (Stanford), Chris Noth (Mr. Big), John Corbett (Aidan), and new fan favorites Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and LTW (Ari Nicole Parker).
And Just Like That… is the latest chapter in a franchise that began with the Emmy-winning Sex and the City series, which aired from 1998 to 2004, followed by two feature films. While always a conversation starter — both adored and critiqued — the show redefined how female friendship, dating, and city life were portrayed on TV.
Though many fans hoped for more, Parker and King said they delayed the announcement to allow viewers to enjoy season 3 without the weight of finality.
As the curtain prepares to fall, one thing is clear: Carrie Bradshaw and her world left an unforgettable mark, and for many fans, saying goodbye feels like parting ways with an old friend.
The final two episodes of “And Just Like That…” will air over the next two Thursdays.
