Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will declare open the 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Advertising Agencies Association of Nigeria (AAAN) on Monday.

The announcement was made on Friday by the AAAN President, Mr. Lanre Adisa, during a press briefing in Lagos. He said the governor’s presence at the event underscores the importance of the advertising industry to the state’s economy and its role in shaping public discourse.

“This year’s AGM is a significant milestone for our association. We are honoured that Governor Sanwo-Olu will declare it open. His support for the creative industry has been tremendous,” Adisa stated.

The three-day event, themed “Advertising in a Changing World: Innovation, Ethics, and Sustainability,” will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions for advertising professionals. Key topics will include the impact of artificial intelligence on advertising, ethical standards in the industry, and sustainable business practices.

The AAAN President said the AGM will also provide an opportunity for members to review the association’s activities in the past year and set new goals for the future. He noted that the advertising industry is undergoing rapid transformation and needs to adapt to remain relevant.

The event is expected to attract over 500 delegates, including advertising agency owners, brand managers, media professionals, and regulators. Special guests from across Africa and beyond will also participate.

The AAAN has been a key player in the development of the advertising industry in Nigeria, setting standards and promoting best practices. The 53rd AGM is expected to produce resolutions that will guide the industry’s growth and contribution to the national economy.

Governor Sanwo-Olu’s participation is being viewed as a strong endorsement of the creative industry and its role in Lagos State’s economic development agenda.
