SANWO-OLU SEEKS STRONGER ECONOMIC TIES BETWEEN LAGOS AND US

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called for deeper economic and diplomatic cooperation between Lagos and the United States to create more opportunities for businesses and investors.

Sanwo-Olu said stronger engagement with the US could support investment, trade and partnerships between American companies and businesses operating in Lagos.

The governor stressed the importance of expanding existing relationships and creating an environment that encourages greater private-sector participation in the state’s economy.

He said Lagos remained open to partnerships that could support economic growth, innovation and job creation while strengthening links between businesses in both markets.

The governor also highlighted the importance of continued engagement with American institutions and investors as Lagos seeks to attract more capital and expand its economic opportunities.

The push for stronger Lagos-US ties comes as the state continues efforts to position itself as a major business and investment destination in Africa.

Sanwo-Olu said deeper economic cooperation could provide additional opportunities for Nigerian and American businesses while supporting the broader development of Lagos.
