ROTARY CLUB INSTALLS NEW PRESIDENT, INDUCTS MEMBERS
The Rotary Club of Shomolu has installed Adetola Adesanya as its president for the 2026/2027 Rotary year and inducted eight new members.
The ceremony was held at the Hadassah Event Centre in Ogudu, Lagos, during an investiture and fundraising luncheon. The event also featured the inauguration of the club’s Board of Directors for the new Rotary year.
Johnson Omeiza Alabi was unveiled as president-elect and is expected to lead the club during the 2027/2028 Rotary year.
Speaking at the event, Adesanya said the club would focus on projects aimed at improving the welfare of people within its community.
The club plans to support 15 pregnant women requiring Caesarean sections and provide prostheses for patients at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi.
Other planned projects include the installation of a solar-powered borehole in Imota and literacy programmes targeted at underserved communities.
The investiture and fundraising event attracted Rotarians, Rotaractors, community leaders, business executives, corporate organisations and other guests from Rotary International District 9112.
Adesanya assumed office in August and will oversee the club’s humanitarian and community service activities throughout the 2026/2027 Rotary year.
