Humanitarian organization strengthens public school infrastructure in Yenagoa while launching comprehensive educational support programs aimed at improving student learning outcomes and literacy rates

The Rotary Club has donated 50 modern classroom chairs and desks to a public basic school in Bayelsa State as part of its ongoing educational support and community development interventions across the Niger Delta region.

The donation ceremony, held on the school premises in Yenagoa, was accompanied by the official unveiling of a strategic literacy initiative designed to enhance reading culture, improve library resources, and provide foundational learning materials to primary and junior secondary students.

Speaking during the handover event, the President of the local Rotary Club chapter emphasized that providing comfortable seating and conducive learning environments remains essential to reducing school dropout rates and improving student academic performance.

The school's management and community leaders expressed gratitude to the humanitarian organization, noting that the intervention directly addresses critical infrastructure deficits that previously forced many pupils to share limited furniture or learn under congested classroom conditions.

Alongside the furniture donation, the newly launched literacy project will distribute tailored reading books, fund teacher training workshops, and establish structured reading clubs across participating schools in the state capital and surrounding local government areas.

Rotary leadership reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with state education authorities and community stakeholders to execute sustainable literacy projects that advance inclusive, quality basic education across Bayelsa State.
