Former Manchester United defender Phil Jones has revealed who he considers the greatest footballer of all time between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Jones was teammates with Ronaldo during their time at Manchester United and faced Messi in UEFA Champions League encounters when the Argentine played for Barcelona.

When asked to choose between the two legends, the 33-year-old defender told ESPN UK, “Picking between Ronaldo and Messi is like choosing between your mum and your dad. I will go with Cristiano.”

Ronaldo and Messi are widely regarded as two of the greatest footballers in history, collectively winning 13 Ballon d’Or awards.
