RONALDO, GYöKERES, HAALAND AMONG NATIONS LEAGUE HAT-TRICK HEROES
UEFA has highlighted 18 players who have scored hat-tricks in the UEFA Nations League, with Finland forward Joel Pohjanpalo becoming the latest player to join the list.
Pohjanpalo scored three goals in Finland’s 7-0 victory over San Marino on September 26, 2026.
Serbia forward Aleksandar Mitrović and Slovenia striker Benjamin Šeško also hold the competition’s longest scoring streak, with both players finding the net in five consecutive Nations League matches.
Mitrović achieved the feat between June 5, 2022 and October 12, 2024, while Šeško scored in five straight matches between June 12, 2022 and September 9, 2024. Both players also recorded hat-tricks during their respective runs.
Mitrović scored three goals against Sweden in September 2022, while Šeško netted a treble against Kazakhstan in September 2024.
Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo remains the only player to score a hat-trick in the Nations League Finals. He scored three times against Switzerland in the 2019 semi-final.
Norway striker Erling Haaland and Spain forward Ferran Torres are the youngest players to score Nations League hat-tricks. Haaland was 20 years and 82 days old when he achieved the feat, while Torres was 20 years and 262 days.
The other players on UEFA’s hat-trick list include Yura Movsisyan, Haris Seferović, James Forrest, Arber Zeneli, Eran Zahavi, Haris Vučkić, Stefan Mugoša, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Isaac Price, Viktor Gyökeres, Nikola Krstović and Vedat Muriqi.
UEFA notes that Movsisyan and Gyökeres scored four goals in their respective matches rather than three.
Gyökeres has also been on a four-match scoring run in the Nations League, while Romania’s Răzvan Marin, Georgia’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Georges Mikautadze have each recorded four-match scoring streaks.
