Rodrygo’s Arsenal Dream Hits a Wall as Wage Demands Stall Transfer

Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes had his sights set on joining Arsenal this summer, but the move has fallen through — and it’s all down to money.

According to a report from ESPN Brazil, the 24-year-old Brazilian winger was eager to take the next step in his career by moving to the Premier League, with Arsenal being his first choice. However, the Gunners pulled back from the deal after learning how much he was asking for in wages — a figure reportedly too high for the club’s current salary structure.

While Arsenal fans may be disappointed, this doesn’t mean Rodrygo won’t land in England. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are said to still be very interested and could meet his demands.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have been busy in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Álvaro Carreras, and Franco Mastantuono, a highly rated 17-year-old talent. These additions have swelled Madrid’s senior squad to 25 players, meaning the club is now under pressure to offload several names — and Rodrygo is among those who could be sacrificed.

With the transfer window still open, a Premier League switch remains on the cards for the talented winger. But unless a club is ready to meet his wage demands, Rodrygo may have to rethink his options.

Stay tuned — this one isn’t over yet.
