RODRYGO TURNS DOWN TOTTENHAM MOVE, EYES BIGGER CLUB IF HE LEAVES REAL MADRID
Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has made it clear he has no intention of joining Tottenham Hotspur, despite interest from the Premier League side during the current summer transfer window.
Reports had linked the 24-year-old Brazilian international with a possible switch to North London after Spurs reportedly made an inquiry. But according to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, Rodrygo has ruled out the move, making it known that Tottenham is not part of his plans.
Rodrygo is said to be holding out for a move to a “bigger club” if he ends up leaving Real Madrid this summer. While he is one of three players the Spanish giants are reportedly open to selling, the talented winger is focused on either staying at the Bernabéu or moving to a top-tier club where he can consistently compete for major titles.
One of Rodrygo’s biggest concerns is guaranteed playing time. He is reportedly seeking assurances from new Madrid coach Xabi Alonso about his role in the upcoming 2025/26 season, after struggling to secure a starting spot in recent months. Notably, he was not a regular feature in Real Madrid’s squad during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
As things stand, Rodrygo remains a Madrid player — but his future could hinge on conversations with Alonso and clarity over his role going forward. While Tottenham may have tested the waters, Rodrygo seems to be setting his sights high.
