ROBLOX UNVEILS NEW WALLET TO SPEED UP PAYMENTS FOR GAME CREATORS

Roblox has announced the introduction of a new digital wallet designed to make it easier and faster for creators on the gaming platform to receive money generated from their games and other digital content. The new service is expected to begin rolling out in December 2026, initially for eligible adult creators based in the United States. The move is part of Roblox’s wider effort to strengthen its creator economy and give developers quicker access to the income they generate through the platform.

The Roblox Wallet will allow eligible creators to receive their earnings automatically in real-world currency rather than manually converting their Robux before accessing their money. Under the new system, qualifying US-based creators aged 18 and above will be able to receive payments in US dollars every business day, with the funds available for transfer to their bank accounts. The service is being supported by payments company Airwallex, while Roblox has stressed that it is not becoming a bank through the new initiative.

The company said the wallet is intended to provide creators with a more professional financial system that can support their businesses as they grow. Roblox has already paid creators more than $5 billion since 2013, including about $1.7 billion over the past year. The platform says the new payment system will help creators gain faster access to their earnings, allowing them to reinvest money into game development, marketing, hiring additional team members and other areas that can help their businesses expand.

Roblox is also introducing several other changes aimed at giving developers more ways to make money and reach players. The company said creators will soon be able to distribute their games as standalone applications across mobile devices, computers and consoles, while players will eventually be able to access games directly through the Chrome browser without downloading the Roblox application. The company is also expanding its artificial intelligence tools, including features that can help developers create game environments and test their experiences more efficiently.

The wallet will initially be available only to eligible US-based creators, with Roblox planning to expand the service internationally in 2027. The company said the wider goal is to help creators earn more, access their money faster and build sustainable businesses around their games. The move could further strengthen Roblox’s position as a major creator-driven gaming platform, where users are not only players but also developers and digital entrepreneurs generating income from content they create.
