The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, DSP Grace Iringe-Koko, has been called to the Nigerian Bar, a development that has been described as a proud moment for the Nigeria Police Force and the legal profession.
Iringe-Koko was among the successful candidates admitted to the Nigerian Bar on Friday during the call-to-bar ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. The Rivers State Police Command and senior officers have congratulated her on the achievement.
The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, Mr. Okon Abang, said the development underscores the importance of continuous professional development among police officers. “DSP Grace Iringe-Koko has made us proud. Her achievement will inspire other officers to pursue academic and professional excellence while serving the nation,” Abang stated.
Iringe-Koko, who has been the face of the command’s public relations for several years, expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police and the command leadership for their support. She pledged to use her legal knowledge to improve police-community relations and ensure justice for all.
The Rivers State Government also congratulated the police spokesperson, describing her as a shining example of dedication and self-improvement. Governor Siminalayi Fubara urged other public servants to emulate her commitment to personal and professional growth.
The call-to-bar ceremony saw hundreds of new lawyers admitted into the legal profession. Iringe-Koko’s achievement has been celebrated by colleagues, friends, and family members who described it as a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and determination.
Her dual role as a police officer and now a legal practitioner is expected to bring added value to the Rivers State Police Command, particularly in legal and public relations matters. The development has also sparked conversations about the importance of encouraging police personnel to pursue higher education and professional qualifications.
