RIVERS POLICE BEGIN FREE HEALTH CHECKS FOR OFFICERS, FAMILIES

The Rivers State Police Command has commenced a comprehensive free health screening exercise for its personnel and their immediate family members.

The initiative, which kicked off on Tuesday, aims to promote the wellness of officers and detect health issues early for timely intervention.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at the Command Headquarters, Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Bala Mohammed, described the programme as a welfare package to boost the morale and operational efficiency of the force.

“A healthy police officer is a more effective officer. This exercise covers vital checks such as blood pressure, sugar levels, malaria, hepatitis, and general medical examinations,” he said.

The free health checks are being conducted in partnership with selected hospitals and medical professionals across the state.

Family members of officers have also been encouraged to take advantage of the programme.

The Rivers Police Command plans to make the exercise a regular feature as part of its commitment to personnel welfare and improved service delivery.
