RITA DANIELS STANDS FIRMLY WITH DAUGHTER REGINA AMID DIVORCE AND DRUG ALLEGATIONS
Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Daniels has publicly shown unwavering support for her daughter, Regina Daniels, as the young actress navigates a turbulent divorce from her husband of over six years, billionaire businessman and politician Ned Nwoko.
Taking to Instagram, Rita reposted a video showing Regina undergoing a drug test, describing her daughter as her “forever pride.” She offered prayers for God’s continued blessings and protection over Regina, encouraging her to remain strong and focused.
“My forever pride!!
Almighty God shall continue to bless and protect you in every aspect of your life.
Keep shining.
Forward ever, my child.”
Hours earlier, Regina had addressed allegations of drug addiction by voluntarily taking a drug test and sharing a video of the process online. She revealed that the past few months had been deeply challenging and marked a major turning point in her life. According to her, the decision to undergo the test was driven by her desire to be accountable to those who love, support, and look up to her.
Regina is currently facing a difficult period marked by a contentious divorce from Ned Nwoko and an ongoing custody battle over their children. She reportedly ended the marriage in November, citing domestic violence as her reason for leaving.
In response, Nwoko released a public statement attributing the marital crisis to what he described as Regina’s struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. He claimed that his attempts to help her seek professional treatment had been repeatedly resisted. Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the politician said his insistence on rehabilitation was motivated by concern for her health and the well-being of their children.
The situation escalated further in December when Regina accused Nwoko of deliberately cutting her off from her children, claiming she had not spoken to them since mid-November. She alleged that he dismissed her nannies, pressured them into making false statements, and filed for full custody while already retaining physical custody of the children.
In a follow-up post, Regina shared screenshots of a conversation with one of the nannies, who reportedly resigned after becoming overwhelmed by tensions arising from the couple’s marital issues. Regina expressed sadness over being unable to care for her child, Moon.
Nwoko, however, dismissed Regina’s claims as misleading, stating that they were inconsistent with the family’s long-standing practices. He maintained that sharing photos and videos of the children had always been normal and noted that Regina herself had publicly posted them for years without raising privacy concerns. According to him, her absence from the children’s lives was a personal decision and not something imposed on her.
