RHEMA UNIVERSITY GRADUATES 342 STUDENTS AS FIVE SETS HOLD COMBINED CONVOCATION
Rhema University has graduated 342 students as five graduating sets held a combined convocation ceremony, marking an important milestone for the institution and its graduates.
The ceremony celebrated the academic achievements of students who completed their programmes and prepared to move into the next stages of their careers, further education and professional development.
Convocation ceremonies provide universities with an opportunity to recognise students’ hard work and acknowledge the contributions of lecturers, administrators, parents and guardians who support academic success. For graduates, the occasion represents the culmination of years of study, examinations and personal commitment.
The graduation of 342 students also highlights the role of Nigerian universities in developing the skilled workforce needed to support economic and social development. Graduates entering the labour market bring knowledge and skills that can contribute to industries, public institutions, entrepreneurship and community development.
However, as more young Nigerians complete tertiary education, access to employment and opportunities to apply their qualifications remain important concerns. Graduates must often navigate a competitive job market where practical experience, digital skills and professional development can improve their prospects.
Universities therefore have an important role to play beyond classroom teaching. Strong industry partnerships, career guidance, practical training and entrepreneurship support can help graduates transition more effectively into the workplace.
The decision to combine five graduating sets into one convocation also provides an opportunity for the institution to celebrate a broader group of alumni together.
For the graduating students, the ceremony marks both an achievement and the beginning of a new chapter. Their next challenge will be to apply what they have learned, continue developing their skills and contribute meaningfully to their communities and chosen professions.
The graduation serves as a reminder of the importance of sustained investment in higher education and the need to ensure that academic achievements translate into opportunities for young Nigerians.
