RETIRED COP GOES MISSING AFTER MEETING OGUN BUSINESS ASSOCIATE

A retired Superintendent of Police, Emmanuel Ahmed, has gone missing in Ogun State after leaving his home in Abeokuta to meet a business associate over a cattle transaction.

Ahmed reportedly left home on July 23, 2026, after receiving a call from a Fulani man identified as Muhammed Saleh, who asked him to meet at Rounder along Ayetoro Road before proceeding to Alamutu Market to sell two cows.

According to Ahmed’s son, Emmanuel Nehemiah, his father was last seen with Saleh on his Bajaj motorcycle. Police officers at a checkpoint reportedly confirmed seeing the two men together before Ahmed disappeared.

The family subsequently reported the matter to the police, and the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department and the anti-kidnapping unit in Eleweran.

Nehemiah said efforts to trace Ahmed and Saleh’s phone numbers had been unsuccessful, while police reportedly arrested two people in connection with the investigation.

The family has appealed to higher authorities to intensify efforts to locate the retired officer, expressing concern about his safety and wellbeing.

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident and said the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, had directed the anti-kidnapping unit to ensure Ahmed’s safe return.
