REPS CONDEMN NUPRC, NOSDRA OVER RESPONSE TO BILLY GAS LEAK

The House of Representatives has criticised the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) over what lawmakers described as inadequate action following the Billy gas leak incident.

Lawmakers expressed concern over the environmental and public safety implications of the leak, urging both agencies to act swiftly to contain the situation, assess its impact, and protect affected communities.

The House called for a thorough investigation into the incident and demanded accountability from all parties responsible for preventing and responding to such environmental emergencies.
