REPS COMMEND SEC’S FISCAL REFORMS, REVENUE GROWTH
The House of Representatives has commended the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its fiscal reforms and improved revenue performance, describing the agency’s recent achievements as a positive step toward strengthening Nigeria’s capital market.
Lawmakers praised the commission for implementing reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, improving regulatory oversight, and increasing operational efficiency. They noted that the measures have contributed to stronger revenue generation and greater investor confidence.
The legislators also encouraged the SEC to sustain its reform agenda by deepening market development, protecting investors, and promoting innovation across the financial sector.
Capital market experts said effective regulation is essential for attracting both domestic and foreign investment, while ensuring that Nigeria’s securities market remains fair, transparent, and resilient.
They added that continued reforms could help expand access to capital for businesses, improve market participation, and support broader economic growth.
The SEC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Nigerian capital market through sound regulation, improved governance, and initiatives that encourage sustainable investment and long-term economic development.
