Imo State Governor and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodimma, has said the organisation remains active and will work alongside the newly constituted APC Presidential Campaign Council to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Uzodimma made the clarification during an emergency meeting of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Abuja, following concerns among members that the group would be dissolved after the formation of the campaign council.

He said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors was established by President Tinubu and remains a distinct structure with the responsibility of taking the achievements of the Federal Government to Nigerians and creating awareness about the administration’s policies and reforms.

According to Uzodimma, the group will continue to function even after the election, unlike the Presidential Campaign Council, which was created specifically for electoral purposes.

He described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as the President's “organic structure” and assured members that nothing had changed regarding their mandate.

Uzodimma also disclosed that the group’s media tour across the six geopolitical zones was already ongoing to highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

He announced plans for a summit in the third week of September involving elected and appointed political officeholders across Nigeria.

The summit, according to him, will be organised in partnership with the Progressive Governors Forum and local government chairmen and is expected to be addressed by President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Uzodimma dismissed suggestions of rivalry between the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Presidential Campaign Council, stressing that both structures would work together towards the same goal.

He urged members to focus on mobilising support for Tinubu, insisting that the APC needs votes from Nigerians across the country.

Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, speaking on behalf of the group's national coordinators, welcomed Uzodimma's clarification and reaffirmed members' commitment to Tinubu's re-election.

The National Director of Logistics and Support, Shehu Usman, also said the briefing had addressed concerns among members across different states regarding the future of the organisation.
