Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has released a fresh statement dismissing claims that his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, has any incriminating evidence against him.

In a statement issued by his Communication and Technical Action Team in Abuja on Monday, Nwoko said certain individuals have been taking advantage of his marital issues to tarnish his reputation and portray him negatively before the public and the international community.

“Beyond this, the talk about me grabbing land in my hometown is false and unfortunate. The truth is that I was allocated a piece of land to establish the University of Sports — a project that exists today and serves the community,” he explained.

The Senator argued that his critics were exploiting Regina’s current situation to settle old scores, insisting they would face justice for defamatory statements made against him.

“If by now she has not brought up any credible allegation against me, it means there is nothing illegal about me, except that I want her to seek help for rehabilitation — a condition that existed long before our marriage,” he said.

Nwoko also alleged that Regina had a history of substance use, which he claimed could be verified through medical records and past testimonies from acquaintances. According to him, those spreading false narratives online were doing so to damage his image.

“She openly admitted to using drugs and said she was on bipolar medication. Yet some people keep pushing false stories to destroy my reputation. If she had any secrets to reveal, she would have done so. She has nothing,” he added.

Addressing questions about the timeline of his marriage to Regina Daniels, Nwoko clarified that she was 19 years old at the time of their marriage, not 17 as widely speculated.

“For clarity, Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, that means she got married at 19. Her family gave her away in marriage, and her mother personally brought her to me,” he stated.

Nwoko further emphasized that his marriage to Regina was in line with cultural traditions and that he treated her with love and dignity.

“Our marriage has been public and transparent. I pampered her and cared for her deeply. It is disheartening to see falsehoods being spread online. Regina has become a weak point through which my political and personal enemies are attacking me,” he lamented.

The Senator concluded by describing the ongoing controversy as a politically motivated witch-hunt aimed at undermining his development projects and tarnishing his image now that he holds public office.
