RECONCILE KWARA APC STAKEHOLDERS, GROUP URGES ABDULRAZAQ

A Kwara-based socio-political group, Orisun Igbomina, has urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to reconcile aggrieved stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress and strengthen political inclusion ahead of the 2027 elections.

The group said recent political developments in Osun State offered lessons for political leaders in Kwara, particularly on the importance of maintaining strong relationships with voters and grassroots supporters.

In a statement signed by its National President, Chief Gbenga Awoyale, the organisation called on AbdulRazaq to engage members of the APC who have expressed concerns over the party’s internal affairs.

The group specifically pointed to the emergence of the G15 within the Kwara APC, saying the concerns raised by members of the group should not be dismissed without proper engagement.

Orisun Igbomina urged the governor to make himself more accessible to party stakeholders, including political appointees, party leaders, elected representatives, and grassroots members.

It said reconciliation should be viewed as a sign of political maturity rather than weakness, particularly as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

The group also warned against political exclusion, factionalism, intimidation, and the imposition of candidates, saying such practices could weaken the party’s grassroots structure.

It recalled the 2019 “O To Ge” movement in Kwara, describing it as a reminder that voters ultimately determine political outcomes.

The organisation urged AbdulRazaq to use the remaining period of his administration to rebuild confidence within the APC, improve consultation, and strengthen internal democratic processes.

It maintained that Kwara’s political future should prioritise inclusion and the interests of residents rather than individual political ambitions.
