Rafael Nadal Set to Join Real Madrid’s Board

Real Madrid have proposed appointing tennis legend Rafael Nadal to their board of directors, with club members expected to vote on the move on November 21.

The retired 22-time Grand Slam champion has accepted the proposal, describing it as an exciting opportunity to contribute to the club.

“I have accepted this proposal with great excitement. I’m eager to learn and to contribute everything I can,” Nadal wrote on X.

Nadal, 40, has been an honorary Real Madrid member since 2011 and has a close relationship with club president Florentino Perez.

In a statement on Wednesday, Madrid said his sporting achievements and personal qualities would make him a valuable addition to the board.

The appointment remains subject to approval at the club’s general assembly.

Nadal, whose tennis career included a record 14 French Open singles titles, previously expressed interest in becoming Real Madrid president someday.

However, he distanced himself from reports linking him to this year’s presidential election, which Perez won in June against Enrique Riquelme.
