RAPHINHA EXTENDS BARCELONA DEAL BY TWO YEARS
Barcelona captain Raphinha has signed a two-year contract extension, committing his future to the Spanish giants until June 2030.
The Brazilian forward, who joined Barcelona from Leeds United in 2022, had an existing contract that was due to expire in 2028. The new agreement secures his services for another two years as the club continues building its squad around key players.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed an impressive run of form under manager Hansi Flick, establishing himself as one of Barcelona's most important attacking players. He has scored 19 goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this season, making him the club's leading goalscorer so far.
Raphinha was also appointed captain in August, reflecting his growing influence within the dressing room and his importance to the team's leadership structure.
Since arriving at Camp Nou, he has made 190 appearances, scoring 94 goals and providing 64 assists. He has also contributed to Barcelona's success in domestic competitions, winning multiple La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
The contract extension represents a major commitment from Barcelona, particularly as the club seeks stability and continuity under Flick. Retaining a player who combines attacking quality with leadership is expected to strengthen the team's plans for upcoming domestic and European campaigns.
For Raphinha, the new deal offers an opportunity to build further on his achievements and continue writing his name into Barcelona's history.
