FCT Minister leads closed-door strategic session with Rivers State governor and political stakeholders in Port Harcourt to consolidate fence-mending efforts ahead of 2027 polls

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Kingsley Chinda, has held a high-level meeting with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The four-hour closed-door session, which took place at the governor's private residence in Port Harcourt, marked a significant milestone as Governor Fubara directly participated in a structured reconciliation engagement with key members of the political camp.

According to political insiders, the strategic gathering forms part of ongoing fence-mending initiatives designed to align interests under the broader "Rainbow Coalition" framework ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting follows previous reconciliation groundwork laid by committees working to bridge historical divides and accommodate diverse political structures within the oil-rich state.

While both camps maintained a strict silence and refrained from addressing journalists after the session concluded, analysts view the development as a crucial step toward establishing long-term political stability and administrative cohesion in Rivers State.
