Dikko Umaru Radda has called on Muslims to uphold the values of unity, compassion, and generosity beyond the Ramadan period, while reassuring grieving families of ongoing efforts to restore peace and security across the state.
The governor made the appeal on Friday after observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at Batagarawa Mosque, where he spoke with journalists.
Radda described Eid-el-Fitr as both a time for reflection and celebration, urging residents to continue practicing virtues such as kindness, patience, and fairness in their daily interactions to foster social harmony.
He commended the people of the state for their resilience and cooperation, acknowledging the contributions of security agencies and community members in maintaining relative peace.
The governor, however, noted that the festive period comes amid renewed security challenges, with some families still mourning loved ones lost to recent attacks.
“We deeply sympathise with families who have lost their loved ones, and we want to assure them that efforts are ongoing to bring an end to these unfortunate incidents,” he said.
Radda expressed optimism that strengthened security measures would pave the way for safer and more peaceful celebrations in the future. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring stability and protecting lives and property across the state.
He further urged citizens to remain united and continue supporting government initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace and development.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
