QUIT THE PARTY IF YOU'RE UNHAPPY, EKITI PDP TELLS FAYOSE
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee in Ekiti State, Dare Adeleke, has called on former governor Ayodele Fayose to exit the party, following a series of critical remarks made by Fayose against the PDP.
Adeleke, in a statement released on Saturday, accused Fayose of betraying the party and acting out of personal disappointment. “He has admitted to being bitter and disgruntled—someone who turned against his party simply because things didn’t go his way,” Adeleke stated.
His comments were in response to Fayose’s appearance on a television program on Friday, where the ex-governor expressed dissatisfaction with the PDP’s leadership. Fayose alleged that despite his loyalty and sacrifices, the party sidelined him.
“The PDP has lost its soul and spirit; only the shell remains,” Fayose said during the interview. “Key stakeholders have left, leaving the party hollow. The PDP has failed in leadership and is now a shadow of itself.”
He further predicted that the party would come fourth in the next general elections, citing internal disarray and the exit of prominent figures as key reasons.
