PUNCH Nigeria Limited has received the 2026 Human Resources Optimisation Award from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria for its workplace transformation programme.

The newspaper won in the Organisational Development and Change Management Initiative category at the CIPM International Conference and Exhibition in Abuja.

The award recognised PUNCH’s three-year workplace transformation programme, which focused on developing a people-centred, performance-driven and digitally enabled organisation.

The initiative was designed to strengthen employee engagement, improve performance and modernise workplace processes.

PUNCH’s transformation programme has also involved greater use of digital tools and organisational development practices as the company adapts to changes in the media industry.

The recognition was presented on September 22, 2026, during the opening ceremony of the CIPM conference at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

The award highlights the growing focus by organisations on workplace culture, employee development and digital transformation.

CIPM, Nigeria’s professional body for human resource management, recognised PUNCH alongside other organisations and professionals during its annual conference.

PUNCH said the recognition reinforces its commitment to building a workplace that supports employee development, organisational performance and innovation.

The award comes as the media organisation continues to adapt its operations and workplace practices to changes in technology, audience behaviour and the wider business environment.
