Prudential Zenith Life Insurance and Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria have entered into a strategic bancassurance partnership aimed at expanding access to life insurance and strengthening financial inclusion in Nigeria.

The partnership combines Prudential Zenith’s insurance and underwriting expertise with Standard Chartered’s banking network, allowing customers to access selected life insurance products through existing banking channels.

Under the arrangement, Standard Chartered customers will have access to insurance solutions designed around different financial and family needs, including individual protection, family security, and education planning.

The companies said the partnership is intended to help bridge Nigeria’s insurance gap by making insurance products more accessible and easier to integrate into customers’ everyday financial activities.

Afolabi Lawal, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Prudential Zenith Life Insurance, said the collaboration would help reach more Nigerians with financial protection solutions while supporting broader financial inclusion.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Ayodeji Adelagun, said the partnership would strengthen the bank’s wealth management offering and provide customers with additional options for protecting their finances and families.

The collaboration builds on a 27-year global relationship between Prudential and Standard Chartered across 11 markets in Africa and Asia.

Both organisations said the partnership would support efforts to make life insurance more accessible while contributing to a stronger and more financially inclusive Nigerian economy.
