Tanzanian protesters have reportedly looted the fashion store belonging to popular singer Juma Jux.
The unrest broke out on Thursday following a disputed general election marked by the disqualification and detention of key opposition figures in the country.
Demonstrators are demanding the cancellation of the election results, alleging widespread irregularities in the presidential polls.
Amid the chaos, a post by an X user, Bolaji Fesomade, claimed that the singer’s store, valued at $780 million, had been set on fire by protesters.
However, Juma Jux’s wife, Priscilla Ojo, debunked the claim via her Snapchat account, clarifying that the store was looted but not burnt.
She simply stated, “Looted not burnt.”
