PRESTIGE ASSURANCE APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Prestige Assurance Plc has appointed Seetharaman Sivasankar as a Non-Executive Director, effective August 20, 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

The insurer disclosed the appointment in a notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited dated August 21 and signed by its Company Secretary, Chidinma Ibe-Louis.

Sivasankar brings more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, having joined National Insurance Company Limited, India, as an officer in 1991.

A graduate of Commerce and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, he has held several leadership positions covering branch, divisional, regional and head-office operations.

During his career at National Insurance Company, Sivasankar spent about eight years heading the Accounts Department at a divisional office, where he oversaw financial operations. He later managed branch and divisional offices for 16 years, gaining experience in business expansion and operational efficiency.

He also spent three years overseeing corporate and large claims before becoming Chief Manager at the company’s head office, where he was responsible for the Fire and Engineering Claims portfolio.

Following his promotion to Deputy General Manager, Sivasankar took charge of Fire and Engineering businesses, overseeing underwriting, claims and techno-marketing operations.

He was subsequently appointed Executive Director on the Board of New India Assurance on February 20, 2026.

Prestige Assurance said his extensive industry experience would strengthen its board and support the company’s growth and expansion strategy.

The insurer expressed confidence that Sivasankar’s expertise would contribute to the further development of its business as it continues to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s insurance market.
