President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu arrived in Lagos in the early hours of Friday, concluding a two-day state visit to the United Kingdom.

Their aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 1:15 a.m., where they were welcomed by senior government officials. Among those present were Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Also in attendance were Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Tinubu is expected to observe the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Lagos before returning to Abuja to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa.

During their visit, the President and First Lady were hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at a state banquet held at Windsor Castle.

President Tinubu also held bilateral discussions with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street.

Both nations signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) focusing on port development and enhanced trade cooperation, aimed at deepening economic relations between Nigeria and the UK.

The President had earlier departed Abuja on Tuesday for London following an official invitation from the British government.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
