PREMIER LEAGUE AWARDS: GUARDIOLA, GIBBS-WHITE AND MAINOO SHINE AFTER STANDOUT APRIL
The Premier League has confirmed its monthly award winners for April, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White, and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo all recognised for outstanding performances across the month.
Guardiola Leads Manchester City’s Perfect Run
Pep Guardiola has been named Premier League Manager of the Month after steering Manchester City through a flawless April campaign that reinforced their title push.
City recorded three key victories in a demanding schedule, beginning with a 2-1 win over Arsenal, followed by a dominant 3-0 triumph over Chelsea, and a disciplined 1-0 win against Burnley.
The award marks Guardiola’s 13th Manager of the Month title, placing him third on the all-time list. He now sits just two awards behind Arsène Wenger’s total of 15, while Sir Alex Ferguson remains the record holder with 27.
It is also Guardiola’s second Manager of the Month award this season, having previously won it in February, underlining Manchester City’s consistency during the run-in.
City could still extend their recognition for the month, with Rayan Cherki shortlisted for Goal of the Month.
Gibbs-White Inspires Nottingham Forest
In the Player of the Month category, Morgan Gibbs-White delivered one of the most decisive individual performances of the season, earning recognition after guiding Nottingham Forest away from relegation danger.
The Forest skipper scored four goals and registered one assist across three matches. His most notable display came against Burnley, where he scored a rapid 15-minute hat-trick in a 4-1 comeback victory.
He followed that performance with another goal and assist in a commanding 5-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, before helping his side secure a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
His form played a crucial role in lifting Forest six points clear of the relegation zone with three matches remaining. He becomes only the second Nottingham Forest player to win the award, after Chris Wood.
Mainoo Wins Creative Moment Award
Completing the monthly honours, Kobbie Mainoo was awarded the Premier League Creative Moment of the Month.
The Manchester United midfielder earned the recognition for his brilliant solo goal in a 2-1 victory over Brentford, a moment that stood out for its control, composure, and technical quality.
April’s awards reflect a month defined by elite managerial control, individual brilliance, and decisive contributions at both ends of the Premier League table as the season approaches its climax.
