The English Premier League (EPL) has issued an apology to clubs and fans after a two-week delay in releasing the list of televised fixtures for September.

Supporters were initially told that the match dates and times for gameweeks 4, 5, and 6 would be confirmed by July 9. However, the EPL only released the updated schedules on Wednesday, citing delays in local approvals.

In a statement, the league said:

“The Premier League would like to apologise for not being able to confirm these fixtures until now. However, today’s announcement is in line with our commitment to give at least six weeks’ notice for fixture announcements before January.”

Despite the delay, the new announcement still meets the EPL’s minimum notice policy for fixture changes.

Some of the notable schedule updates include:

Manchester United will visit Manchester City in the Manchester Derby at 4:30pm on Sunday, September 14.

Earlier that day, Liverpool will travel to face Burnley at 2:00pm.

Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest on Saturday, September 13, with kickoff set for 12:30pm.

The EPL emphasized its ongoing effort to keep fans informed, especially those planning matchday travel.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
