The Nigeria Police Force has extended the deadline for the enforcement of the tinted glass permit requirement to October 2, 2025.

This extension was approved by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, in response to a significant increase in permit applications on the official portal, reflecting a rise in public compliance.

In a statement released on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension is aimed at allowing adequate time to thoroughly assess applications and ensure that permits are issued only to individuals who meet the necessary criteria, in line with national security objectives.

The Police further stated that the extension will support ongoing enhancements to both the digital and physical verification systems, helping to safeguard the integrity of the process and curb misuse.

Members of the public are also encouraged to report any instances of extortion, unauthorized charges, or illegal processing through designated complaint channels.
