Police in Anambra Rescue Man Attempting Suicide on High-Tension Pole 🚨

In a dramatic rescue operation on Tuesday evening, police operatives in Anambra State successfully saved a 28-year-old man, Mr.

Okwudili David Onyiba, who was attempting to take his own life. The man had climbed a high-tension power transmission pole behind Grace of God Mission in Awada, drawing a large crowd of concerned onlookers.

Upon receiving a distress call, officers from the Awada Division quickly arrived at the scene. They secured the area and worked to control the crowd to ensure no one was in danger. After a tense period of persuasion from the police and members of the public, the man finally climbed down safely. He was immediately taken into protective custody at the police station.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has directed that Mr. Onyiba undergo a proper medical and mental health evaluation. The police command has assured the public that it will provide the necessary support to ensure the victim's well-being. This incident highlights the critical role of timely intervention and mental health support in addressing suicide attempts.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
