POLICE PROBE ALLEGED SHOOTING OF BRODA SHAGGY IN OGUN
The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the alleged shooting of popular skit maker and social media influencer Samuel Perry in Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
The incident reportedly occurred last Sunday afternoon while the comedian was filming a comedy skit under the Sango-Ota bridge.
Although details surrounding the shooting remain unclear, a police source said the entertainer sustained a gunshot injury during the filming.
However, the police said they could not confirm whether the incident actually occurred within Ogun State.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information while investigations continue.
“For the sake of clarity, the command cannot confirm that Broda Shaggy was shot anywhere within Ogun State. Investigation into the matter has, however, commenced,” he said.
Sources said the skit maker was immediately rushed to Blooming Care Hospital, where he received initial treatment after sustaining the injury.
He was later referred to Duchess International Hospital, where he is currently recuperating.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said the police were alerted by hospital authorities about a gunshot victim brought to their facility.
She said officers who visited the hospital discovered the victim was Broda Shaggy and that he had sustained an injury to his thigh.
According to her, the incident location falls within Sango-Ota, which is outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos police command, but investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the entertainer’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, declined immediate comment, saying he was busy and would respond later.
