POLICE INTENSIFY SURVEILLANCE PATROLS TO BOOST SECURITY IN ANAMBRA
The Anambra State Police Command has intensified surveillance patrols and security operations across the state to curb crime and restore public confidence in the face of recent security challenges.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, disclosed that more personnel have been deployed to strategic locations, including major roads, markets, and vulnerable communities. “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety of residents and visitors,” he stated during a press briefing.
The enhanced patrols involve increased vehicular and foot patrols, intelligence-led operations, and collaboration with local vigilante groups and community leaders. Authorities have also appealed to the public to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
Residents have welcomed the move, reporting improved visibility of police presence in some areas. However, calls persist for sustained efforts and community-oriented policing to address root causes of insecurity.
The police command assured that the intensified operations will continue and be reviewed regularly to adapt to emerging threats.
