POLICE DEBUNK SEPTEMBER 18 TRAINING NOTICE
The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a notice circulating on social media claiming that successful Police Constable recruits have been directed to report for training on September 18, 2026.
The Force described the notice as fake and urged prospective recruits to disregard it, stressing that it was not an official communication from the police.
The fake document, dated September 1, was reportedly designed to resemble official police stationery and contained instructions on items recruits were expected to bring for the supposed training.
The Nigeria Police Force said prospective trainees should rely only on their recruitment portals and verified official communication channels for information concerning the recruitment and training exercise.
The warning comes amid the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Force. The recruitment exercise was approved by the Federal Government as part of efforts to strengthen police manpower and improve security across the country.
The Police Service Commission released the list of successful candidates in July and formally handed the recruits over to the Nigeria Police Force in August for training at approved institutions.
The police also appealed to members of the public to stop sharing unverified information that could mislead applicants or create confusion.
Prospective recruits have been advised to verify any recruitment or training announcement through official channels before acting on it.
