POLICE CONFIRM ABDUCTION OF FOUR ALONG IGBETI–KISHI ROAD
The Nigeria Police Force in Oyo State has confirmed the abduction of four persons along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in Irepo Local Government Area.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ibadan, noting that coordinated search and rescue operations were underway to secure the victims’ release.
According to the command, the Commissioner of Police immediately directed Divisional Police Officers in Kishi and Igbeti, alongside tactical teams, to deploy necessary operational assets to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted persons and the arrest of those responsible.
Security operatives are currently combing the surrounding areas and intensifying intelligence gathering to track down the suspects. The command urged residents to remain calm and provide useful information to aid ongoing operations.
The development comes days after police operatives foiled a bandit attack in Atisbo Local Government Area and thwarted a kidnap attempt in Oyo West, reinforcing efforts to curb criminal activities across the state.
