POLICE ARREST THREE OGUN SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS DURING CULT INITIATION
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three secondary school students over a suspected cult initiation in Owode-Yewa.
The students are aged 12, 18 and 18, according to the police.
Command spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi disclosed the arrests on Friday, saying officers acted on intelligence about a planned gathering tagged “Kito Day.”
Police said the information, received on October 22, 2026, suggested that the alleged cult-related activity would involve students from different secondary schools in the area.
Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer in Owode-Yewa deployed detectives to the location.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and led to the arrest of the three students.
The command described its intervention as having prevented a suspected initiation.
The statement provided did not identify the schools involved, specify any items recovered or announce charges against the students.
The police account remains an allegation and does not establish that the students committed an offence.
