The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested three young women involved in the assault and public humiliation of Nancy Wilfred, a student of the Federal University, Otuoke.

The disturbing incident happened in Yenagoa, the state capital, where the victim was accused of having an affair with the boyfriend of one of her attackers.

In the viral video, the suspects were seen slapping, kicking, and punching Nancy before forcibly stripping her naked. They also cut off some of her braids with a sharp object while filming the ordeal.

Following public outrage, the police launched a manhunt and apprehended the suspects on charges including assault, attempted murder, grievous hurt, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and abduction.

Police sources confirmed that the key suspect, identified as Kadi, was first arrested with the help of Zone 16 operatives and FOU security. She later provided information that led to the arrest of the other two girls.

The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police has assured the public that justice will be served, emphasizing that the command remains committed to protecting citizens and maintaining law and order.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court after further investigation.
